Prior to purchasing the business I have had a 35 year career as an RN in High risk Antepartum/Labor and Birth, Postpartum/Newborn care and Reproductive Endocrinology. For the last 9 years I have been a Lactation Consultant for the busiest Metro Hospital group in central Iowa.
I serve breastfeeding Moms in their homes within a 60 mile radius of Des Moines. I drive as far north as Ames/ Highway 30.
I emphasize the importance of a Prenatal Lactation Consultation ! This is so helpful for a first-time Mom, or for a Mom who struggled with breastfeeding previously.
After the birth, my goal would be to see the Home Birth Mom and Baby the day after the birth.
For Moms delivering in the Hospital setting , I can council by phone as needed until they are at home. We will set up our first postpartum consultation during those calls.
Of course I offer consultation for any Mom struggling with breastfeeding and pumping difficulties!

I’m a prenatal/postpartum and infant physical therapist! Having a pelvic floor PT on your birth team is so important for birth prep and postpartum healing! I also assist infants with things like body tension, feeding difficulties, gas/reflux, and more!

Our pelvic health specialists are trained to evaluate pelvic related disorders, including but not limited to, urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic/abdominal pain, and pre-natal and postpartum care.

I teach prenatal yoga in Ankeny and am a certified birth doula (though I only take repeats on a case by case basis currently). I also offer individualized birth prep consultations.
